Some news from a recent trip to Malawi & Mozambique:
Rev. Jussa is a missionary in Magodani. He had to learn a new language in order to serve this community. He comes from a very fertile area, where he was able to provide for his family through farming. In Magodani however, the land is very sandy and not very fertile. The area also doesn’t have any electricity. Rev. Jussa saw his circumstances as an opportunity and started a small business where he charges the neighbours’ cell phones using solar power.

Rev. Samuel is form Milange in Mozambique. He was raised by his grandmother and learned to look after himself from a very young age. Milange is very close to the Malawi border, and there is always a lot of local trade taking place in the area. For this trade to occur, the money from both countries must be exchanged. Rev. Samuel is a money changer. If you have ever been to Africa, you will know that money traders are not very trustworthy. However, because of his friendliness and trustworthiness Rev. Samuel has a lot of clients.
